Here is my weekly layout. I will probably change this as I see what works and what doesn't.
School week- Monday thru Thursday.
Before Week Begins: Go to Library and get Book List (I just search the online catelog from local library and find books for the topics we are learning about.)
-Begin each day with a new ASL sign.
-End each day with some sort of physical activity. (Game, kick ball, run around, dance, jump, etc)
Mondays- Language Arts:
Weekly Letter(s)- (recognize letter, know it's sound, write it's shape)
Reading Vocab- Choose a familiar word. (perhaps related to the chosen book, letter, or ASL sign) Show child what it looks and sounds like. Discuss the letters in the word. Make flashcard.
Literature- choose a book to read and discuss. Read several other books for fun story time.
Craft- do some craft that goes along with either the letter or book.
Tuesdays- Science
Choose any topic that might interest child. (an animal or plant, how something works, geology, space, physics, etc)
Read- Find a book or encylopedia that discusses the topic, if possible. Or just explain yourself.
Activity- might include demonstration of principle, a craft, or exploration of subject.
