Monday- Language Arts:

Weekly Letter(s)-  b, d (distinguish from eachother)
Reading Vocab- book, dog
Literature- The Berenstain's B Book
Activity- letter B worksheet, letter D worksheet,  Letter word search: fill a piece of paper with letters. Let child circle all the b's then all the d's (with a different color).


Tuesdays- Science
Sign of the day: swim
Topic-Whales
Read- "I Wonder if I'll See a Whale" by Ward Weller, "A Humpback Whale Tale" adapted by Justin Spelvin, "Blue Whales" by Patricia Miller-Schroeder
Activity- Watch Free Willy!
 Color whale with chalk. (print on blue paper).


Wednesdays- Math
sign of the day: eat
Numbers- Review numbers 1-10
Activity- Recognize numbers: cut out 10 papers with a number 1-10 on each. Play number bingo. (call out numbers, let them put beans on correct number)
Number Order: help child put them in appropriate order. Practice until he can do it himself.
Count 1-10: Cut out "bones" from white paper. Gather stuffed dogs (or any stuffed animal) and a "dog bowl". Turn number papers over, choose one at a time and "feed" the dog that number of bones.

Thursday- Social Studies/ Other
Sign of the day: cold
Subject- Eskimos.
Activity- Read: "Eskimos" by Kate Petty.
Frozen Paper: dip your eskimo coloring page in water, place on a cookie sheet and freeze it. Once it's solid, take it out and paint on it with watercolors. Watch the paint freeze and turn into a solid.
Color/ cut out Eskimo Paper boy.
